Thanks Tracy. Love your server name btw.I don't use a panel... But I've always done a shutdown -r now (since i'm the only user) on the system. It always shuts down the associated services and then restarts the server.

I've always used 'shutdown -r 0' on my local systems as a quick way to reboot after a kernel update. Next time I reboot my VPS, I'll try this and see if the corruption issue still occurs.
