admin>performane>minify CSS causes high load?

hi

just wondering if the
admin > option > performance > minify css
caused high server load?

because without it its serverload is 1.0
when i use it it goes to 40

Note: The minification process is processor intensive, and you should only enable this option if you have also implemented a caching mechanism in your library/config.php file.

which one will lessen the load (with minify css disabled) ?
A. Enable the file cache
B. Disable the file cache

That really depends on your server - I wouldn't expect it to make too much difference either way.
