Thank you for the suggestions! Guess I'll need to download the free version as I went ahead and filed a dispute. It was instantly approved when I hit submit and the money returned to my account about a minute later. I really like the gifting subscriptions idea though.

Out of curiosity: where did you come across this add-on?
The reason I ask is that I imagine there are people who find and attempt to purchase it (from https://www.addonflare.com/) without ever coming to this forum. (This by the way is an obvious reason why PayPal would have no business denying a refund request.)

I saw the link for it in a few sites footers underneath the XenForo copyright line. Only issues I was aware about at purchase was it doesn't work with XF2.3, which I still use 2.2, so was fine with that.

AddonFlare is gone!
Opened tickets on his website several weeks ago. Still no response. All his addons are NOT working wit XF 2.3.x

if we do like you said on each addon been placed on xenforo without approuvement, than why i shoud pay, we did our payment because we have a license with xenforo and those addon must be approved by xenforo if they are legal, available...

Yeah, I don't think you're going to gain any favour here trying to spin this on the Xenforo team.

i'm not looking for any favour and i don't care what does mean xenforo team if they are realy, this addon has to be removed from xenforo platform if his owner is not availale .

I don't disagree that the add-on should be removed, as the developer has not been in communication with anyone for quite some time, but the add-on still works for the version of XF it is listed for.

File a claim with Paypal and get a refund, and there will be a new alternative add-on releasing as soon as @Ozzy47 is available again that is very close in functionality to this one.

It's fair to say that reading the last few pages of this thread would have alerted a potential buyer to trouble ahead.
It's also fair to say that one review here (I just added a second) warned of problems.
But if you don't have an account already on the developer's forum, this is all you see there:


By the time I tried to register an account, it was too late - the system was not sending out the emails it claimed to be sending out. If you can see spam on the forum, I guess you must have an account on it?

I would agree that the add-on should now be taken down.

This resource has been removed and is no longer available.

The add-on is marked unmaintained, which is correct in this case as there is a free version available.

However, as there are also paid versions available and the author appears to no longer be around, I have deleted it.
