XF 2.1 Add column to xf_post & xf_edit_history table

Hello community
I want to add a column to the above mentioned tables, so that they will be populated from one to the other table.
How do I find the function or process, which move the previous version of the post into the history table?
Do I need to change something on the code, so that the additional column will be copied as well?
