XF 1.5 Add another sidebar

So I have on my forum just one sidebar. How do I make my forum to have 2 sidebars, one on each side? And on the new side, I would like to create something like parent categories and subcategories. To look something like this

And when I click on a link, it looks like this

So basically, links on sidebar and then links inside the page which can click over to its own page.

Adding a second sidebar is unfortunately not sooo simple. There are various topics around the forum that deal with this topic (1,2 and more).
