Active Internet Forums....

ZooChat made the list - fortunately in the "Hyper-Niche Activities (Useful)" rather than the "Hyper-Niche Obsessions (Questionable)" category!

I interpreted it as a personal list of forums collated by the author - not an attempt to be a comprehensive list or anything.

I see rpg.net on there. I am getting close to 20 years on that site (two more years, I think) though I am not a frequent poster. It is very active still though has kind of changed character over the years as the crowd has turned over.

Reading the comments, self submission was involved to some extent.

There are other forums way bigger and more active than some listed.

Seems like an odd collection.

That helps explain it. I have numerous clients on the list, but what really surprised me is how many of my very big board clients weren't on it.

yes, add

yes, the biggest weapon forum in the world uses XenForo. where you should pay $50k for annual account upgrade, to see forums.

Unless one of our staff (or a visitor) submitted it, I don't see how ours got there...which is embarrassing since I'm still working on the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.3. (Multiple setbacks, working two other jobs, etc., plus I just don't have time to devote to it 24/7.)

One note about automotive forums. There are hundreds out there--some are good, some are not busy anymore but still have a lot of info (for models that have been discontinued), and others are nearly empty with little activity. Sadly, most of those I know of are owned by either Int*rn*t Br*nds or Verticalscope, the latter having bought up most of them in recent years.

Nope, but mine is college sports and they admittedly said they know jack squat about 'em.

It's now my last forum I run and has been online since 2007.

Thinking about it again, ours is sort of mis-categorized. They mention the busiest forum like it's the only topic of the board, while overlooking another forum that is also very active and turns up a lot in Google searches when searching relevant topics. And the two forums are interrelated.

Yeah, odd choices...
