Hello all,

Today I am unveiling the BETA build of my Gaming Clans forums. It is a massive upgrade from what it once was. I spent a good amount of time for the past month putting this all together and I finally think it is worth bringing to the Xenforo Communities attention.

If you have questions or suggestions on improvements, let me know and I would gladly take some time to help explain how things work or if they are worth sharing with the community.

The token system, the token shop, and the clan creation stuff are proprietary. Those things are meant to be more for me and my userbase as it grows. However, if you have suggestions on improving them I will gladly take those into consideration too.

Very nice work on the forum. This going to be a clan promotion type forum? Or is it more for your own clan? Used to be a few clan promotion type forums out. Not so much now.

So, in essence, TMG is a gaming clan. Inside of TMG are Sub-Clans. Clans that are their own entity, but resonate under the TMG banner. It gives people who want to run a clan, but not a whole community, the opportunity to. It is a different type of gaming community. Trying to give more power to the player so to speak. Also, I just made the Region Lock element. It gives me a chuckle. (Raining middle finger emojis).

TMG is a clan that revolves around the idea that all gaming is valid.

Using a JS globe that has Lat and Long attributes to it, I am able to take the rejected nodes from the logs and plaster them onto the JS module. They are then displayed for the world to see. This small, but effective update gives the user a sense of security and also an ego boost.

Initially I felt the forums could use a little more spice to it and honestly with the probing from Python Headers and a huge concentration of content from Singapore and China, the transparency felt necessary and inclusive.

Introducing Wager Hub:

You can now wager your credit on the website against other users. If you plan on playing games with other users, this platform allows you to 1v1 or play in matches Sub-Clan vs Sub-Clan.

This addition allows users to use their tokens as a means to buy clan upgrades (Future Development) and more User Flair.

Admin Side:
I am able to create an abundance of user flairs on a whim and designate their attributes to my desire.

I adapted it for my own purposes. The improved version now looks like this:

In the spirit of making the forum "Private" until somebody signs up, I added a "private forum" overlay to prevent scraping from guests and such. You can view the home page, and the forums listing, as proof that the forums work and are active. But accessing the content, your screen is blocked.

Hello all,

Today I went and made some quick edits to the website. Ideally the website should feel like an exclusive and select area for new members. A place that holds a high regard for people like us gamers.

1) Signing in with your Microsoft Account will trigger a notification on the home page as a notice. The notice is just validation that you are using an authenticated method of signing in. Yes, that's basically it. Discord will not get a notice because no.

2) Hopefully, you wont see this notice, so I am going to post a picture here. This notice is for banned users. It is styled the way TMG is supposed to be and it will be amazing!

That will only pop up under the circumstance that you are banned.

3) We added CSS stylings for the website. Across all the pages you will see the old "scan lines" effect. Kinda cool if I do say so myself. It is just one of those things that turns a "regular forum", into something that pop's out and reminds us of the good ol' days.

4) We added an Xbox System for when you provide your Xbox Gamertag upon registration! By doing so, and you have to Provide your Xbox GT, your stats will populate on the forum. It is a neat feature that I believe will enhance the feel of when you interact with users on the forum.

In order for this to have worked, we utilized a resource called "xbl.io" and it handled all of our information pulling. We may put more XBL.io integrations going forward, but this is where we are at now and it is just a placeholder for more stuff down the road. Fantastic work. We also had to hard code our forums to display the fields in a way that is appealing to look at and is different than other forums. Much better than the original message_macros template.

To give users a sense of celebration with who validates their email with our Forum, we utilized a js module that displays confetti on the homepage upon registration:

Upon creating a thread, we now have a working animation that ties into our token economy.

This will also give the user a sense of accomplishment.

You can click on the tabs above (protocol, standard, specs, uplink) to view the different information.

@rickyrolly , getting a lot done I see. Nice work!

Absolutely, this kind of thing always appealed to me and being able to take a very well structured framework like XenForo and build upon it creatively is the first step into a real community building endeavor. While this is basically a Beta build, I am hoping to take this software further and push the limits of XenForo going forward. The animated pop-ups upon creating Threads looks a little tacky, but I will improve upon them later. Right now most of everything is just placeholders. It will be more polished as I get closer to a real release.
