[8wayRun.Com] XenUtiles (Tools)

It would be great to have a bulk delete option. I'm amazed at the crap I'm finding. It seems they engaged in ping pong links with three other sites. That boosted the value of their spam links. I've got over 13,00o profiles that I'm deleting one by one. I could zap them all with a mySQL query, but I prefer to have all these spammers deleted. Fantastic tool. Once you get your site clean, this certainly helps find the bad guys.

For those wondering, it's incredibly tiresome to delete 16,000 accounts. After 16 hours, I decided to use Borbole's scripts to wipe links on accounts with zero posts. I then used Jaxel's excellent XenUtiles to clean up the mess (about a 100 or so accounts). With a clean spam-free database, my plan is to use this daily. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. Well done sirs, well done. The combination is very effective at eliminating those who get through the filter.

My sitemaps are not being recognized by Google's Webmaster Tools... any ideas how I can remedy this?

I've submitted the following sitemap URL's according to various things I've read. I've already tried manually running the sitemap cronjob...
Not sure what else to do. This is what my GWMT Dashboard looks like

When reporting any error please offer every piece of information. Others are much more willing to help when they understand more about the issue.

Can you please share exactly what error message you are receiving and share an updated screenshot?

Sorry about that... Below is an updated screenshot. Not sure what it's trying to tell me exactly.

Joshua...make sure that /data/sitemaps is writeable. Try CHMOD 777.

You shouldn't actually have a physical folder /sitemap/.

When you hit yoursite.com/sitemap/, what do you see?

Chmod'd /data/sitemaps to 777

When you hit yoursite.com/sitemap/, what do you see?

Code:

I think he meant what is the error message on Google WMT. That red X indicates something is wrong. We need to know what is wrong to help.

What is the Google error you are receiving?

Click on those links for your sitemaps. We understand SOMETHING is wrong, and that's all.

I suggest posting any further questions on this subject in the General Questions area, as it is not specific to this add-on.

You want to take some time and read through the Google Webmaster Tools help section. You need to decide how you want to represent your site on the web. Do you want include www as a prefix? or not?

When you decide, ensure 100% of your site uses the same URL (with or without the WWW). Ensure your Board URL in the ACP uses this URL. I would recommend setting a redirect so all your addresses match. For example my site is www.terapvp.com. If you type in terapvp.com the web address will automatically change to www.terapvp.com.

In Google you will need to list both your www. domain, and the domain without the www prefix (see image below). You can then set your "preferred domain" in Google. Once you have all that cleared up, test it. Make sure Google shows which domain you are using, and your site only uses 1 domain. THEN you can generate new sitemaps and submit them.

The problem is www.yoursite.com <> yoursite.com. They are two separate web addresses. If you have a forum post and Google listed it, then it would be listed twice and that would cause confusion. Google is forcing you to clean things up before they will accept your sitemap.

Paths don't match

Clear case of www.yoursite.com as opposed to http://yoursite.com
Recommend: Delete the entire lot and start from scratch.
When creating the fresh one, make 100% sure the site you're wishing to use is either www.yoursite.com or http://yoursite.com but not a mix of both, it simply won't work.
Me: Been there, done that, cleared mine...waited for a bit...resubmitted, all super. (y)
