Ok, now, after adding the modules to the display, going through each and setting the options for each module, my front page shows;

An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

I'm sure this has been covered, 85 pages is a lot to page through. Any ideas?
 
I'm not saying this is it, but.... that happened to me when I loved a module into place, before I had installed the add-on it belongs to.
In other words, I moved the media module into place, before I had installed 8wayrun's XenMedio add-on.

I can't tell what exactly the problem is you are referring to. Your site has CSS issues in any browser (Google, FF & IE). Your nav bar length is too short and too low, your SignUp Now button merges into your Search box, and numerous other issues.

If you are referring to one specific issue try using a red arrow to point it out.
 
I want to put ads on my homepage, but AdSense isn't an option for me. How do I get other ads on the homepage? I need to look through the advertisers to choose one yet, but I expect some html or javascript code.

The module is called AdSense but you can put any ad code in the block and it will work.

You can also use any of the ad_ templates and they will work on the portal page, but they will also appear on the rest of your site. If you want them to appear on only your portal page, you would need to wrap the code in a conditional within the PAGE_CONTAINER template.

How do I put other code in the block? Here?

my apologies, I was thinking of the ad templates, not the adsense xenporta block.

Just use on of the three ad_sidebar templates, depending on where you want the block to be positioned.

I haven't touched the CSS for these elements though, those are the issues i'm talking about. How can i go about fixing those issues?

Edit > Actually i may have fixed it, forgot to close an element in the links module, can someone check in firefox 3.x for me :)
 
@ Liam Dawe I have been checking out your site using FireFox AND IE... looks good

BTW - Search bar disappears when I use IE to crusie my website.
 
Liam, your portal looks good to me using FF 3.6. I have two suggestions which are simply image swaps. Fix your FB logo. It's the og.png file in your styles/xenforo folder and should be 100 x 100 if I recall correctly. Also, your pacman images at the top are clearly smaller images which have been enlarged. The image quality looks bad when scaled that way. You may want to get a better pic. Besides, you shouldn't be using Pinky anyway as Clyde is much more photogenic. :cool:
 
Twitter question....

I need to filter out profanity. Twitter does not offer a way to do it. What I do on twitter is simply block the user, then they no longer appear in the search results. XenPorta grabs info for my twitter account, but the process is not actually using my twitter account to grab the search results, so my block filter is not used.

Can the twitter module be updated to either:

- integrate with a twitter account so it can use that account's block list? or
- add a block filter so any tweets with a bad word listed in the filter would not be shown? or
- integrate with XFs Censor and use that?
