I've noticed that XenPortal Module Twitter and Facebook are not working correctly. The Twitter module is not showing the tweets from my Twitter account after I've made the proper modifications. Also, the Facebook module was working correctly before but now it's just empty. Please help. :(

For Facebook, it appears the modules are not working correctly. I checked my site and 8wayrun. They seem to be trying to grab the info but not able to. According to facebook there is no issue on their end.

As far as the twitter module, it took me a while to figure that out. It is not designed to post tweets from your twitter account. It is designed to search Twitter for the term you enter. You can of course alter it to show the posts from your twitter account. For now, try entering in something you know there is data for, such as @8wayrun. You should see your twitter block instantly fill up.

so does this mean the file in that post is newer than the files in the zip? (meaning everyone should actually be downloading that file and replacing the zip package?)

Hmmm I have no idea :) .... as far as I know this is the file Jaxel use for his own website. So I dont't know if it is newer or an older version :) But I am sure that this file is a working file :)

seems permissions don't work on new threads unless that single file is overwritten. I tried it both ways. Staff threads were going to the home page visible to all guests unless you overwrite it.

One additional thing I noticed about the facebook issues on the portal page...

If the Facebook Group module is not on the portal page, then the Share This Page module's facebook icon loads fine. If the Facebook Group module is added to the portal page and there are issues (which there are right now) then the fb icon on the Share This Page module doesn't load.

I've downloaded the add-on from first post, why my promoted thread (I have one), facebook, twitter won't show up on the portal?

Here is the screenshot:

Can anyone help me?

Thank you :)

facebook just did some coding changes today so there are some issues, but the module should still appear on the portal

As for Twitter, your block is there but you need to configure it for the tweets you want to appear in it. Go to your HOME > Module screen, double click the Twitter block and enter in what you want that block to search for. For example, my site supports an upcoming MMORPG called TERA so I search for @TERA

Ok, I'll try to take a look on twitter module..
But one more thing, why my promoted thread won't shown on the portal?

Thanks for youe help Oracle..

[8wayRun.Com] XenPorta (Portal) v1.3.2 CHANGELOG
  • Recent Threads module has been completely rewritten. It will now once again support viewing permissions and read times. As well, you can now select which forums to poll from! ("unselected" will default to all) I believe some people promised donations for this feature. =P
  • Fixed a huge security exploit! THIS IS IMPORTANT!
  • Added "Show/Hide" permissions for each module based on usergroups.
  • Fixed the facebook issue with their new XFBML scripting.
  • Fixed the link to the new media search system.
  • Fixed the link to the new wiki search system.
  • Fixed the twitter template to properly read the search term.
