XenCustomize Reaction Visibility for XenForo 2.3
Take full control of reaction privacy and visibility by deciding who can view reactor identities, reaction details, and timestamps—while keeping XenForo's reaction system familiar and useful.Reaction Visibility adds flexible permission-based privacy controls to XenForo's built-in reactions.
Hide who reacted without hiding the reactions themselves, allow anonymous access to reaction details, control timestamps independently, and choose how reaction summaries are presented throughout your community.
Key Features
Independently control whether members can see reactor identities in reaction summaries and inside the reaction details overlay.
Choose who can open XenForo's reaction details overlay. Access is permission controlled and protected server-side.
Allow members to view reaction details without exposing who reacted. Anonymous rows retain XenForo's familiar layout with an anonymous avatar and name while still showing the reaction itself.
Choose whether reaction timestamps are shown. This can be combined with anonymous identities, allowing members to see which reaction was used and when—without knowing who used it.
Optionally allow content authors to view complete reaction information on their own content even when normal visibility is restricted.
Give trusted staff complete reaction information regardless of other restrictions.
When identities are restricted, members can optionally still see their own participation with summaries such as You and 4 others.
Reaction Summary Display
Reaction Visibility also gives you more control over how reaction summaries look—not just who can see them.- XenForo Default — Keep XenForo's original summary presentation.
- Automatic (Recommended) — Show normal identities when permitted and anonymous per-reaction counts when identities are restricted.
- Count per Reaction — Show individual totals to everyone, such as
5
2
1. - Compact — Show reaction icons with a compact combined total, such as

×8.
Flexible Permissions
Permissions are independent, allowing you to build the visibility rules that suit your community.- View reactor identities in reaction summaries
- View reaction details
- View reactor identities in reaction details

- Show own reaction in restricted summaries
- View full reaction information on own content

Built Around XenForo
Reaction Visibility enhances XenForo's existing reaction system rather than replacing it.Reactions remain visible and useful, while the add-on controls how much information about them each member is allowed to see. Existing reaction types, scores, alerts, and reaction data continue to work normally.
