XenCustomize Job & Mail Control for XenForo 2.3
Pause background jobs and outgoing mail, inspect exactly what is queued, remove unwanted jobs, and resume processing from one convenient Admin control panel.XenCustomize Job & Mail Control gives administrators direct control over XenForo's background job queue and outgoing email processing.
A large conversion, unexpected email notification burst, or stuck maintenance job can leave many tasks waiting to run. Instead of relying on a crowded job-list page or server command-line access for everyday queue management, you can pause processing, inspect individual jobs, delete the entries you choose, and resume when ready.
Job processing and outgoing mail have separate controls, so you can pause email delivery without stopping every other background task.
Key Features
Pause new XenForo job execution from the Admin control panel, then resume normal processing when ready. The paused setting is stored in the database and checked by the add-on's supported job execution paths.
Pause outgoing mail separately from background jobs. Queued email jobs can remain in the queue while delivery is paused, allowing you to inspect or remove unwanted mail jobs before resuming.
View current job and mail statuses alongside their Pause or Resume actions. See separate counts for all queued jobs, queued mail jobs, and other jobs without loading the complete queue into the page.
Browse queued jobs on a separate page with All jobs, Mail jobs, and Other jobs tabs. The newest queued jobs appear first; the list is limited to 20 entries per page and supports AJAX tab switching and pagination. Use the quick filter to narrow the currently displayed rows without loading the whole queue.
Open a job's details in an overlay to inspect its available metadata, including job ID, unique key, execution class, scheduling information, priority, attempts, execution mode, and stored job data. Decoded job data is presented in a PHP-style code editor without instantiating serialized objects; very large payloads are display-limited to protect the interface.
Remove a specific queued job using its own Delete action and confirmation overlay. Select multiple visible jobs on the current page and delete only those selected entries, with a separate confirmation step. The server revalidates each selected job before deletion. Selected deletion is limited to 20 jobs per request and requires paused job processing.
Delete queued mail jobs only, or delete all queued jobs when necessary. Bulk deletion uses batches of up to 250 jobs, shows the number of matching entries, and requires job processing to be paused. Delete controls are disabled when the action is unavailable, and the server rechecks conditions before deleting.
Run a selected due job, attempt up to 10 due automatic jobs, or attempt up to 10 due manual jobs from AdminCP. These actions respect the add-on's pause controls. Quick tooltips explain the immediate batch-run and rebuild actions before you activate them. A link to XenForo's built-in manual rebuild-job runner is also provided.
Dashboard
The dedicated Job & Mail Control dashboard brings the essential controls together:- Job processing: See whether processing is Running or Paused and use the corresponding control.
- Outgoing mail: Independently view and change the mail pause state.
- Queue overview: Check total queued jobs, mail jobs, and other jobs.
- Queue actions: Run a small batch of jobs or open a confirmation overlay to delete matching queued jobs.
- Recent queued jobs: Preview up to five jobs, with individual actions and a link to the complete Queue Explorer.
Queue Explorer & Job Details
Open the dedicated Queue Explorer to inspect the queue without loading thousands of entries at once.- Switch between All jobs, Mail jobs, and Other jobs.
- View up to 20 jobs per page, with newest queued jobs first.
- Use AJAX tabs and pagination without a full-page reload.
- See the job's unique key when one is available.
- Open an individual job's details in an overlay.
- Use the quick filter on the currently loaded page.
- Select individual jobs or select the visible rows on the current page, then confirm deletion of only those selected entries.
- Run or delete a specific job using its row actions.
Pause → Inspect → Delete → Resume
A practical workflow when unwanted work has accumulated:- Pause jobs: Prevent new jobs from starting through the supported execution paths.
- Pause mail if needed: Independently prevent subsequent sends through the intercepted XenForo mail path.
- Inspect the queue: Review individual jobs and their stored data.
- Delete selectively: Remove a single job, selected jobs, only queued mail jobs, or the full pending queue as appropriate.
- Resume: Restore job processing and outgoing mail when ready.

Good to Know
- Pausing jobs prevents new executions through the supported job execution paths; it does not forcibly terminate PHP workers already executing.
- A running worker may complete its current operation. Outgoing-mail pause can block a subsequent send when the worker reaches the intercepted XenForo mail-sending method, but cannot recall mail already accepted by an SMTP server or other provider.
- Deleting a queued job removes its pending queue entry; it cannot undo work that has already completed.
- Dashboard batch-run controls act immediately; use their tooltips to review the scope before activating them.
- Bulk deletion requires paused job processing. Removing unfinished rebuild or maintenance jobs may leave their work incomplete, so inspect jobs before deleting them.
- The add-on manages XenForo's job queue and mail-sending path; it does not manage a separate mail provider's outbound queue or replace an email logging tool.
