XenCustomize Enhanced Tagging 2.3.1 Released​

This release focuses heavily on making tag view pages more useful, modern and visually polished. Tag pages now include an enhanced hero header with tag images, badges, stats, sharing, watch controls, contributor summaries, and automatic fallback descriptions when no custom description has been added.

Tag pages also now support content-type tabs, allowing visitors to filter tagged results by available content type while preserving pagination behavior.

A new tag watching system has been added. Members can watch or unwatch tags directly from tag pages, receive alerts when new visible content is tagged, and optionally receive email notifications with unsubscribe support.

This update also improves Admin CP editing with a XenForo-style HTML code editor for tag descriptions, adds a new placeholder type option for tag images, and makes tag image behavior consistent across tag view, tag search, and iconic tag widgets.

Finally, 2.3.1 includes several stability and cleanup improvements for tag URL generation, tag group deletion handling, Admin CP tag group behavior, and existing widget/template issues.

XenCustomize Enhanced Tagging 2.3.0 is released!​

This version brings a completely rewritten tag normalization system, providing more intelligent and professional-looking tags. Tags now automatically preserve camel case (e.g., XenForo) and all-caps words (e.g., SEO), while a new admin option lets you define "stop words" like "and" or "the" to remain in lowercase. This release also introduces full compatibility with XenForo 2.3's Style Variation system, ensuring a seamless experience in both light and dark modes. Additionally, tag groups are now alphabetically sorted for easier management in the Admin CP.

New Features​

• Advanced Tag Title Case Normalization: The tag normalization system has been completely rewritten for better content consistency. Previously, all tags were converted to a simple title case (e.g., "Tag Name"). The new system intelligently handles and preserves specific word cases while applying title casing to the rest of the tag. This provides a more professional and accurate look for your tags.
  • New Cases Handled:
    • CamelCase: Words like "ChatGPT" and "XenCustomize" will now keep their original casing.
    • ALL-CAPS: Acronyms like "GPT" and "SEO" will be preserved as all-caps.
    • Stop Words: A new Admin CP option allows you to define a list of words (e.g., "and", "or", "the") that will remain in lowercase unless they are the first word of the tag.
  • New Admin Option:
    • Stop Words for Title Case.

Improvements​

• Alphabetical Sorting for Tag Groups: Tag groups are now listed in alphabetical order throughout the Admin CP for easier management, regardless of their creation order.
• XenForo 2.3 Style Variation Support: This version is fully compatible with XenForo 2.3's Style Variation system. All style properties have been updated to support variations, providing a seamless and visually consistent experience in light and dark modes.

Compatibility & Version Changes​

• Enhanced Tagging 2.3.0 requires XenForo 2.3.0 and above.
• Enhanced Tagging 2.2.0 was also released with the same features (excluding XF2.3 specifics) for XenForo 2.2.x.
