What does ACP Editor Resizer do?
ACP Editor Resizer makes supported XenForo Admin CP code editor boxes resizable, giving admins more room when working with longer blocks of template HTML, template code, or custom Page node content.
Where does it work?
It is mainly useful in XenForo Admin CP code editor fields, including Page node Template HTML fields and the XenForo template editor.
Does this affect the public side of my forum?
No. ACP Editor Resizer is an Admin CP utility. It does not change public forum pages, member-facing content, posts, threads, resources, profiles, or style output.
Does it change my saved templates or Page node content?
No. The add-on only changes the editor box behavior while you are working in the Admin CP. It does not modify the content you save.
Can the editor be resized vertically and horizontally?
Yes. Supported editor boxes can be resized vertically and horizontally.
By default, horizontal resizing is capped at the visible browser edge so the editor does not run off-screen or shrink below its original usable width.
What is Extra-wide resize mode?
Extra-wide resize mode is an optional setting added in ACP Editor Resizer 1.0.2.
When enabled, supported Admin CP code editor boxes can be resized wider than the visible browser area. This gives admins a much larger horizontal editing workspace when working with long lines of template HTML, Page node code, or other code-style content.
Is Extra-wide resize mode enabled by default?
No. Extra-wide resize mode is disabled by default.
The default behavior keeps the safer browser-edge limit in place. Admins who want a wider editing workspace can enable Extra-wide resize mode from the add-on options.
Where do I enable Extra-wide resize mode?
Go to: Admin CP>Setup>Options>[XenChef] ACP Editor Resizer>Enable Allow extra-wide horizontal resizing
Where does the horizontal scrollbar appear in Extra-wide mode?
When the editor extends beyond the visible browser area, horizontal scrolling is handled by the browser/page.
The scrollbar appears at the browser/page level, not inside the editor box itself.
Can Extra-wide mode feel like a full-screen editor?
In practice, yes.
It does not create a separate fullscreen editor window, but when the editor is expanded wide and tall, Extra-wide mode can provide a virtually full-screen editing workspace for longer code, template HTML, and Page node content.
Is Extra-wide mode true dual-monitor support?
No. It should not be thought of as true dual-monitor support.
A web page cannot reliably render an editor onto another monitor unless the browser/page itself is able to scroll or span a wider workspace. Extra-wide mode simply allows the editor to extend wider than the visible browser area when that behavior is useful.
Does it replace XenForo’s code editor?
No. It uses XenForo’s existing Admin CP code editor and makes the editor area easier to work with. It does not replace XenForo’s editor with a different editor system.
Does it require manual template edits?
No manual template edits are required. Install the add-on through the XenForo Admin CP and configure it through the add-on options.
Does it edit XenForo core files?
No. ACP Editor Resizer does not edit XenForo core files.
Does it add database tables?
No. The add-on does not add custom database tables.
Does it add permissions?
No. ACP Editor Resizer does not add public permissions or member-facing permission controls. It is an Admin CP utility.
What XenForo versions are supported?
ACP Editor Resizer is built for XenForo 2.3.x.
Is this meant for normal forum members?
No. This add-on is meant for site owners and administrators who work inside the XenForo Admin CP.
What happens if I disable it?
The Admin CP editor boxes return to their normal XenForo behavior.
What happens if I uninstall it?
The Admin CP editor boxes return to normal. The add-on does not leave behind changed Page node content, template content, or public-facing output.
Is this a large Admin CP redesign add-on?
No. It is intentionally small and focused. It only makes supported Admin CP code editor boxes easier to work with.
Where do I get support?
Support is provided through XenChef.com for customers with eligible access.
