Reply Flow 1.0.2

📌 CLI Maintenance Toolkit

Reply Flow now includes a dedicated command-line maintenance toolkit for managing and inspecting internal Reply Flow indexes directly from the server CLI. This is especially useful for larger communities where administrators may want better visibility into index health, storage usage, and maintenance operations without relying only on the Admin CP.

New command
Description
kux-reply-flow:index-sizeShows Reply Flow index table size and storage breakdown.
kux-reply-flow:index-statusShows Reply Flow index coverage and health counters.
kux-reply-flow:optimize-indexSafely analyzes and optimizes the Reply Flow index table.
kux-reply-flow:prune-indexRemoves orphaned or no longer visible Reply Flow index rows.
kux-reply-flow:rebuild-indexRebuilds the Reply Flow post index in safe batches.
kux-reply-flow:reindex-thread-metadataQueues the Reply Flow thread metadata rebuild job.
kux-reply-flow:repair-indexPrunes invalid rows and rebuilds missing or stale Reply Flow index rows.
kux-reply-flow:verify-indexVerifies Reply Flow index consistency and reports potential issues.
Bash:
php cmd.php kux-reply-flow:verify-index
php cmd.php kux-reply-flow:index-size
php cmd.php kux-reply-flow:rebuild-index --force --batch=1000
php cmd.php kux-reply-flow:optimize-index --dry-run

📌 Storage and metadata-only indexing

The Reply Flow index now focuses on compact metadata required for reply navigation, relationship lookups, thread traversal, media and link filtering, index diagnostics, and integrity verification. Full-text searching remains handled by XenForo’s native search system. Reply Flow does not need to duplicate full post content for its own internal index.

This helps reduce unnecessary storage overhead, keeps the Reply Flow index easier to inspect, and improves maintainability on larger forums. Related improvements include:
  • Index size reporting.
  • Index coverage and status diagnostics.
  • Verify, repair, prune, rebuild, and optimize workflows.
  • Dry-run support where applicable.
  • Improved detection of missing, stale, and orphaned index rows.
  • Safer maintenance operations for larger datasets.

📌 A new admin option has been added: Enable AJAX pagination

Reply Flow - Enable AJAX pagination

This setting allows administrators to choose how Reply Flow pagination should behave inside threads. When enabled, Reply Flow pagination can load dynamically without a full page reload. When disabled, Reply Flow restores standard XenForo pagination behavior. This gives administrators more control over their forum experience. Sites that prefer a smoother in-thread experience can keep AJAX pagination enabled, while sites that prefer native XenForo behavior can disable it.

📌 Additional improvements

This release also includes internal fixes and pagination compatibility improvements to make Reply Flow more stable across different thread views, forum configurations, and larger installations.

Reply Flow 1.0.1 - Permission handling and empty-thread behavior

This maintenance release improves permission consistency and empty-thread behavior based on early testing feedback.

📌 Improved permission handling

Reply Flow permission checks have been refined, especially for administrator and staff accounts.

Frontend visibility checks are now more closely aligned with XenForo’s effective permission system, helping ensure that the Reply Flow toolbar appears only when the current visitor should actually be able to use it.

📌 A new admin option has been added: Minimum replies to show

Reply Flow - Minimum replies to show

This setting allows administrators to control when the Reply Flow toolbar should appear inside threads. By default, Reply Flow is now hidden on threads with no replies. This keeps empty or newly created threads cleaner, while still allowing administrators to adjust the behavior based on their forum’s needs.
Code:
Default value: 1

0 = Show Reply Flow even on threads with no replies.
1 = Show Reply Flow when the thread has at least one reply.
Higher values = Show Reply Flow only on longer discussions.

📌 Sticky first post default adjustment

The default value for the sticky first post behavior has also been adjusted to provide a more useful out-of-the-box experience.
