Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: When exactly do I need to enter the license key?
A: License activation is an essential part of the setup. Immediately after uploading the files via the XenForo Add-on manager and completing the installation, you will be prompted to enter your personal key in the admin control panel. The AI interfaces and configuration pages will only be unlocked after successful validation.
Q: Will I be provided with an API key for the LLM (e.g., ChatGPT)?
A: No, FailedSociety does not provide its own API quotas. The add-on serves as a bridge to the respective providers (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic). You need to independently create an account with the provider of your choice and enter the generated API key in the add-on backend. This gives you full control over your costs and data sovereignty.
Q: What happens if my LLM limit (quota) is exhausted?
A: We designed the add-on so that the stability of your board always takes priority. If your limit with the provider is reached or the API does not respond, the add-on "falls back" into standby mode. This means no AI checks will be performed, but posts will continue to be published normally. You will receive a notice about the API error in the admin log so you can react quickly.
Q: In which languages is the add-on available?
A: The add-on natively ships with language packs for
German and
English. Both the frontend phrases and the entire Admin Control Panel are fully translated, allowing you to use the add-on directly in international communities.
Q: Do I need to configure the board language for the AI?
A: No, manual configuration is not necessary. Modern language models (LLMs) automatically detect the user's language during the scan. A special feature: When the AI provides a reason for a deletion or warning, it usually does so in the language in which the original post was written. This keeps communication with the user authentic.
