Gallery Curation and Image Management​

Eggy Thread Gallery includes a comprehensive gallery management system that gives authorised members control over how images are organised and presented.

A dedicated Manage Gallery interface provides the tools needed to customise a gallery without modifying or deleting its original discussion content.

Gallery management features include:

• Drag and Drop Ordering: Arrange gallery images into a preferred order using mouse or touch controls.
• Image Titles: Give individual gallery images their own custom titles.
• Image Captions: Add descriptions to images, displayed within the gallery and image viewer.

Gallery management is available to authorised thread creators and staff according to the configured permissions.

Hidden images remain part of their original XenForo posts. Gallery visibility controls do not delete forum content.

How Thread Gallery Works​

Members create or participate in an eligible XenForo discussion and attach or embed supported images normally.

Eggy Thread Gallery collects those images from across the discussion and presents them in a dedicated visual interface.

Every gallery image remains connected to its original:

• Member and username.
• Forum post.
• Posting date.
• Attachment or embedded image.
• Discussion thread.
• XenForo permissions.
• XenForo reactions.

Images can be gathered from multiple pages of a discussion, making long-running image threads easier to explore.

There is no need to maintain a separate image library or duplicate content.

The original XenForo discussion remains the source of truth.

Gallery Covers​

Thread creators and authorised moderators can select an image to represent their gallery.

Two cover selection methods are available:

• Automatic Cover: Uses the first available gallery image when no manual cover is selected.
• Custom Cover: Allows an authorised member to select a specific gallery image as the cover.

Gallery managers can change the selected cover or return to automatic selection whenever required.

Cover management indicators distinguish between Automatic cover and Current cover.

These management indicators are visible only to authorised users, while Featured image badges remain visible to gallery visitors.

Thread-list Gallery Covers​

Gallery covers can also appear alongside Image Threads in XenForo forum thread lists.

This allows members to identify image-focused discussions before opening them.

ACP configuration includes:

• Enable or disable thread-list gallery covers.
• Configure cover thumbnail width.
• Configure cover thumbnail height.
• Use automatic covers when a custom cover has not been selected.

Normal discussions without gallery images remain unaffected.

Post Images Directly from the Gallery​

Members with permission to reply can contribute images directly through the Gallery interface using the dedicated Post image button.

The posting workflow continues to use XenForo's existing reply and attachment systems.

Latest​

The Latest view displays the newest image contributions first.

This is especially useful for busy community galleries receiving regular submissions.

Popular​

Popular highlights images that have received positive engagement through XenForo's existing reaction system.

Only images with genuine positive engagement are included.

Popular and gallery voting are separate systems, allowing communities to distinguish normal reactions from deliberate competition votes.

Contributors​

The Contributors view recognises members who participate in building a gallery.

Contributor information includes:

• Member avatar.

My Images​
