This add-on has been hotfixed to address an issue affecting all front-end pages while this add-on is enabled. This issue was caused by additional security measures introduced in XenForo 2.3.13.

The latest version has been patched, and can be downloaded at no additional cost. If you are running an older version and you are unable to upgrade for whatever reason, please let me know the exact version you are running and I will apply the hotfix accordingly.

Update highlights

This version features a host of new features, mostly designed to empower your Supervisors (or global moderators) to more efficiently manage your social groups.

Perhaps most noticeably; Supervisors can now view the member log, which shows any kind of moderator event such as kicking users.

For your site-wide moderators, there are new capabilities to optionally allow them to immediately add a member to a group, rather than simply inviting said member, as well as bypassing any user group-defined creation limits when transferring social groups. This is especially useful if group creation/membership limits are part of your site's premium memberships.

Your site-wide moderators can now also reassign a group to a site member who is not yet a member of the social group in question.

There have also been a number of bug fixes and background changes to keep the system running as smooth as possible. Please see the full change log below for more information.

Update highlights

This version improves the search integration in XenForo by allowing additional search constraints to only search user groups from within the group list.

Furthermore, a few phrases have been renamed in order to better reflect their usage context (i.e. search constraints).

The Trending and Featured Content integration has been updated to better integrate with other add-ons that would like to make alterations to the user name display.

Lastly, starting discussions from the main group page has been improved if the group contains no sections, as users will now be taken directly to the Create Discussion page.

Feature: Add social group search constraints on the main list page
Change: Renamed a few phrases to make it clearer where they are used
Change: Update Trending Content template to better support other add-ons
Change: Update Featured Content template to better support other add-ons

Update highlights

This version makes various changes and improvements related to importing from Nobita's social groups.

You can also now manually run the "Rebuild social group memberships" maintenance action, that is normally ran after an import, from the Maintenance page. This should resolve any issues where your cached group memberships are out of sync with your group member records.

Lastly, a regression occurred where the "Maximum joined groups" and "Maximum created groups" permission limitations would not include groups that are moderated or the membership is pending approval. This has now been corrected via a new "real count" hidden internal statistic that tracks groups the same way as before.

Complete Change Log

Feature: Added a new "Rebuild social group memberships" maintenance action
Change: Better handling of last update date when importing from Nobita's groups
Fix: Fix an issue where the "Max joined groups" and "Max created groups" limits would not function as intended
Fix: Correct "Last update date" for imported group records

Update highlights

This version improves the privacy mapping from Nobita's social groups, as well as updates group counters and group membership counters to only count groups that are not deleted/moderated, and memberships that are not awaiting approval or banned.

To rebuild the group membership counters, run the "Rebuild group memberships" action in the Maintenance page.
