I just checked, and all of the 60k dodgy proxy backlinks have already been delisted by Google. This should mean my Google Analytics are more believable now.
How do you block the proxy links?
I presume the robots.txt command and deindexing all files with xxxx/proxy.php should soon delete them from Google lisitng. Just want to make sure they dont emerge again.
I also corrected the type on Xenforo one; a page had nowfollow instead of nofollow.
Hi,
There are 60k dodgy proxy pages listed on Google for my other forum:-
https://www.google.com/search?q=%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.realmuscleforum.com%2Fproxy.php?
I've changed the robots.txt file so proxy.php pages aren't indexed from now on. I've deleted the 10 or so that were listed on the...
Thanks for all of your help - those proxy redirects were indexed on Google so I removed them using Google Search Console. I also changed the redirect code in Xenforo - a misspelling was highlighted on another thread, nowfollow instead of nofollow.
Google removes these links from indexing for...
Thanks for your help.
I don't have these links anywhere else - they are only on the spammers sites.
When I click on the above link for example it is still the deleted URL even though it comes up as a error but I presume this will disappear soon from Google's cache?
Hi
I was recently attacked by a number of spammers who added a load of rubbish onto my forum.
For example:-
http://phobiasupportforum.com/community/threads/new-khalid-american-teen-full-album-download-zip-torrent-leak-2017.1138/
I delete the thread but the URL still remains. I want to get...
Hi
I have Tapatalk integrated into a forum I recently bought - I might look to remove it soon but I will see.
My issue at the moment is that each time I manually post a Tweet to the forum Twitter account it automatically adds the TapaTalk Logo. I am attaching a screenshot.
How can I remove...
If I add "www.*" in the spam phrases section will this stop spam with urls in the title? This is an issue I have encountered recently.
I have just added:-
www.*
http://*
to the list - this should catch the spam url titles?
Brogan - I have 2 other licenses on other forums I own but not on this one.
It asked me for a version of Xenforo when I posted the thread so I just added the first one.
Would urls be preserved as they show on the current VB forum? This is vital for backlinks etc.
Regards,
Mark
Hi Brogan
How much do you think it would cost to re-do the design so it was mobile compatible?
The forum currently has:-
Threads: 5,503, Posts: 24,547, Members: 7,891
So in theory I could buy the Xenforo package and then import my vBulletin forum and apart from the design all the links...
Hi
I have a forum:-
www.electricforum.com/cars
which currently runs on vBulletin 3.8.7. I have some questions:-
Is it easy to upgrade to Xenforo?
How long does it take?
What is the cost?
Would I be able to retain the current site design?
Is Xenforo mobile compatible?
Regards,
Mark
Thats it done now - didn't bother with the redirect as there is already one there for wordpress so might confuse things. I would guess no more than a week or so for Google to re-index?
Thanks for your advice - I have changed the directory housing the XF code to community and as the forum is not really busy yet I will just take the short term hit until Google catches up with the new URL structure. This should n't take too long should it?
