The first place I would look is the user group admin area, find the user group in question, edit permissions, and then look for the Chat 2 permission, and then change to "yes".
@Paul B thank you. I see now the name of the grouping is "forum moderator permissions", so my solution to use a group follows construct.
Can you please respond to my second post. Thank you.
Further, what is the difference between adding a Super Moderator by pointing to an existing username, and then on the next screen choosing all the checkboxes).
Versus
Customizing a specific user and checking YES to everything going down the page?
It seems the above two mechanisms are...
I have changed the privilege "Post New Thread" from the default Yes to No under the Registered user group.
I was expecting the default super admin or super moderator accounts would be able to create new threads, but I had to make a new user group with that specific privilege changed to Yes...
I have a forum in the node list.
Inside the forum is a thread.
I would like this thread to show in the node list, so was planning to create a new node using "Link Forum" with the URL to the exact thread.
But, I want to hide the forum from showing in the node list to remove an unnesecary click...
I am moving from 2.1 to 2.2. For reasons I don't want to get into, I want to import only a list of usernames, original creation date, and maybe password. Nothing else. And the password is expendable too, especially if it's easier without password.
My hope is I can create a csv file with 2 or 3...
I just bought hosting for new xenforo forum and about to launch a new forum.
Can I please get some insight on when 2.3 will be ready?
I know it's minor, but I assume for the full native 2.3 experience and new database php code versions, I might as well wait another 10 days. But, if it's going to...
Thanks for the responses. 2 questions.
1. What is the official way to present User Agreements? I can't find something in 2.1. When I search xenforo and user agreement, I get non-related hits for licensing questions.
2. @Mr Lucky Can you use that mod to force users to read the rules on a regular...
Lots of internal discussion around this right now. We have legal issues to deal with. If they only have to agree when they post, then it’s not that bad.
What is the best practice method for User Agreements with some basic legal mumbo jumbo? I've been using the "Communication/Notices" feature, but it's kinda kludgy for User Agreements. I'm on 2.1 and starting new forum on 2.2 soon. This is kinda key to our deployment. Thank you.
I'm planning to rebuild my forum from scratch and want to revisit some warnings I read about back in 2020 when I first installed 2.1.
I originally wanted to create a site that had close to 200 forums. And then just one or two threads in each forum. I remember reading warnings that high forum...
