A couple additions today, to keep us rolling along.

First, we got our Bookie position filled, and fully opened our "SportsBook" section up.

We received an awesome donation from @Mr. Goodie2Shoes and installed his GoodForNothing Kraken add-on, saving us some disk space. We generally try to save as much as possible when I add them myself, but his add-on saved us:

Started looking into a different way to display profile, or hopefully bring some activity to that area. Looking for input both here and at XFUniverse.

  • Seeing as how we have added a rather larger area for "off-topic" discussions, we have also installed the add-on to ignore forums for others use. We realize that some members do like to see these other areas, and some do not, so what better way to make everyone happy than to give the option as to exactly what you want to see.
  • Today, we have started the search for a developer to start doing custom work for us, in hopes we can bring some of our customizations to members here in a much easier way to install and use.
  • XFES was suggested to be installed, and although a very small site, we added it just to see if any of the members benefit from using it.

Last note for the day, it's really great seeing developers and designers coming together at XFUniverse and collaborating, hanging out, making suggestions, brainstorming, everyone choosing to take control of their own modifications in order to reply to reviews/comments. The atmosphere/attitude all of you community members have brought over is excellent, and we couldn't ask for anything more.

Please keep the suggestions and ideas rolling in. We are doing everything we can in order to make XFUniverse a better place for XenForo owners looking to get creative and take control of their sites.

I'm really impressed with what Sheldon has done with XFUniverse and can't imagine needing to go anywhere else for info on customizing a XF forum. I look forward to seeing how XFU grows in the future, great job Sheldon! :)

I really enjoy XFU. I wouldn't say I have really learned anything but I sure can follow guides so it has helped me customize my site a bit more. Hope to see this site do really well and be around for a long time. The things @Sheldon can do with the UI.X framework and styles really amazes me.

Another week down, another round of improvements, additions, and changes....

Notes
Screenshot_8.webp
  • After a discussion about posts, their values, etc.. we have decided to remove the stats of "Messages" from the user info in postbit. We've all seemed to come to some agreement that it's the content of the posts that matter, not the total. Once that was decided, we simply just removed them, and will use Post Ratings a bit more. Still undecided if we want to remove the total "Messages" from the forum list or not, as well as the notable members tab, etc... There is a convenience in hitting the number and immediately seeing a members posting, so we are looking for a great common ground for all.
Screenshot_9.webp
  • Due to issues beyond our control, we have found the need to add a XenForo Administrative section to XFUniverse. You will find helpful topics and great help from our growing community in here. Any and all topics welcomed... advertisements, spam, growth, filters, discipline, stats, logs, imports, etc.

  • We've started changing some of the look of the profile.. there will be some small tweaks and adjustments made soon. But for now, we will likely stick with this "main" look.
Additions

  • After nearly a month of back and forth, the decision was made to add @Daniel Hood 's add-on Bookmarks. There were members that were wanting to start bookmarking some of the tips, customizations, or great info and we felt it was a great time to go ahead and install it.

  • We decided to take advantage of another add-on, Competitions for XenForo by @Chris D . Due to the large amount of developers and designers we are getting signed up at the site, we want to open this area up to them to be able to give away prizes for their add-ons and styles as they see fit, for whatever reason, at any time. XFUniverse will also be doing giveaways as well.
  • There will likely be criteria to meet for most, and I would assume the majority will be activity based. We fully understand there are registered users that like to lurk, and there will be contests where those are allowed to enter. I'd say there will also be registered date giveaways as well, but again, each individual competition will come with it's own rules, decided upon by whomever is sponsoring the contest.
Soon
  • There have been some requests for Conversation Essentials, so we are weighing the options on installing that.
  • Our first add-on should be available soon.
  • A search for extra staff
Still taking suggestions and ideas from everyone. The input from the developers and designers that have signed up and become active is invaluable, and I personally appreciate every PM, suggestion or idea you guys present me. I really look forward to growing with you guys. Cannot be happier with the growth and atmosphere we have taken on.

Again, please give us some feedback, critiques, suggestions. Thanks!

Another week in, another batch of updates.

Fantastic progress made.

Our "Competitions" up and running in full force. We finally defined a "Active" usergroup, as well as the normal usergroup. We realize some may lurk and not want to post, so we do offer contests for both groups. The response by both members and developers has been fabulous. Cannot thank everyone enough for their participation! Looking to add a few more in the upcoming days, including XenPorta2 (with permission from @Jaxel ), Who Has Visited 24 Hours (by @BamaStangGuy - need to finalize) as well as a couple other "larger" article type add-ons. There wasn't much styling needing to be done in this area, although I did change up the width of the containers to 18%, as I like seeing more across than just two or three.

Screenshot_6.webp

We finally have also added our "Store". All the modifications we commission will be released there, for purchase or download. I didn't fully understand how well the Xen Product Manager worked until I purchased and installed it. It has worked perfectly for our needs, and look forward to future updates as well.

A few other notes:
  • Converstation Essentials by @Daniel Hood has been installed. Some developers have contacted us, asking for it's use, simply because you can create groups and easily contact them, among other things. Myself, I just like the "Like" button in it. :p
  • Our StockTrader and Sportsbook add-ons have been a hit, members are enjoying the various activities we have been providing.
  • The Movie and TV forums are not used as much, but they are giving off some great suggestions to others when looking to purchase. It's a great "demo" area.
  • We have recently opened up a forum for a developer here to conduct his add-on development discussions. We have no problems doing this for anyone, providing them with moderator access as well as whatever prefixes, forums, etc. that is needed. In the end, it helps the XenForo community, so we are glad to do it.
  • Our XenForo Resources and Development forum has really taken off. Developers are noticing the many add-ons wanted, contacting users, etc...
  • Should have a couple more FAQ's added soon. Recently finished up a template edit relating to smilies and TaigaChat.
  • Next project will be turning on and taking full advantage of [Ad] Credits Store. With our postbit style, really looking forward to playing around with this.
That's about it for now. Look forward to hearing the ideas and input you guys have. As a community, you've really stepped up and made this a very relaxed and fun site to put effort into.

Please, keep up the suggestions. Those are what makes XFUniverse tick. (y)

XFU came out awesome. Looks super cool too.

Glad you enjoy it @drastic Appreciate the compliment. If you have any suggestions, hit us up.

Very healthy communitycommunity.

It really blows the competition out of the water..

Thanks @SneakyDave . It's a credit to all the members who have put in all the suggestions, edits, reviews, help, etc. Couldn't ask for a better community / member base to have started this site off. It's thriving. From the developers who have signed up, to the designers, to simply the XenForo license owners. Top to bottom, everyone has been a considerable help, and XFUniverse is feeding off all the positiveness the membership is bringing. It's great!

Cool site!

Thanks for the heads up, this issue should be corrected now. If you find anything else, let us know.

Have been working on moving some of the sidebar things around. With some new add-ons being introduced, and some custom development in progress, we needed more area on the sidebar, so we first added @Steve F Forum Statistics. The add-on was easy to style, and works perfect for our needs.

Screenshot_3.webp

With the removal of the "Stats/Who Has Visited" sidebar, we were then able to add a sidebar for our Competition/Giveaways.

Coming Soon

  • RPSLS release
  • Sponsor Page / Listing
  • Continue to maintain one giveaway a week.
  • More template modification "bounties"
  • One or two add-ons to begin getting ideas generated for them to be developed.

We've been looking for some new add-ons to test out as well, so if you have any suggestions, let us know what you'd like to try. We prefer to give everyone a enjoyable experience when "demo-ing" everything, and look forward to everyone jumping on board. If there is anything that can be done to improve the experience, let us know.

Look forward to seeing more developers and designers joining up, as well as service providers. XFU is a great platform to get your mods discussed, edited, tutorials posted on, etc. You can still also take over your own add-ons, styles, services, so you can easily reply to the reviews being posted. Taking all suggestions for these areas as a priority... in the end, the more you share/sell, the better overall for the community.

Would love to hear feedback and suggestions.

We have branched out a bit and added a few new areas of posting. We've had a good deal of success keeping topics where they needed to be, easy to find, etc... and we have slightly expanded. We've opened up XenForo Forum Management to provide an area for other XenForo owners a place to find help, discuss their site issues, etc.

Screenshot_9.webp

We've also added an Introduction area... which we hope gets used as it will simply bring the community a bit closer and make it easier to work together. Another area we added is The Basement.. hah.

We have purchased [AD] Sponsor Directory, by @Mike Creuzer and @Audentio Design , and we plan on using it for BOTH of those terms. One, as a directory for all XenForo owners to list their sites and a bit of information, and also as Sponsors, for those that want to contribute to the site as well as having their site logo seen on every page.

The "Directory" part will have two links, one in the navigation tab, and one at the footer:
Screenshot_10.webp
Screenshot_11.webp

It will simply lead to the page showing all sites that have been submitted by members of XFUniverse. Cost is nothing, just a simple message to us so we can add the information.
Screenshot_12.webp

For those wishing to contribute a bit more, and/or would rather have simply their logo shown in the footer area, that will be able to be done as well. This will be the "Sponsor" area, and it will appear like this:
footer.gif

We have a few suggestions in for this add-on as well, so some things may change slightly. More information will be posted in our Mission Control Center forum soon regarding these options.

Notes
  • First competition has finished ([AD] Monetize), next competition (free Artodia theme) ends tonight. I think after that, it's pretty close to averaging a contest once every Friday.
  • Development ongoing for RPSLS. We hoped to have something we could show you, but at this time we will just have to hold off. Apologies.
  • Starting to get more and more development requests posted. From small, quick add-ons (seemingly), to much larger ones. If you are a developer, feel free to check them out and see if it might be something you are intersted in.
Looking forward to hearing more suggestions on how we can make this community a better place for all XenForo owners, as well as those looking to buy. If you have any ideas, critiques, suggestions, feel free.
