XF 2.1 xf_mail_queue

My server kept running out of space quickly, so I added another 30gb of space but ran out again 2 days later, I found that the table xf_mail_queue was 60gb

I'm getting the error below

• ErrorException: Job XF\Job\MailQueue: [E_WARNING] fopen(/tmp/e06249b217a0769c3a06c66ee32631fb/body): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
• src/vendor/swiftmailer/swiftmailer/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php:293

Any ideas?

XF 2.1 - mail_queue (4gb) and reaction_content (2gb) are my biggest two tables

Hi, i woke up to the after effects of this table reaching 128gb ( We are a big forum )
Our email hosting provider does not indicate it sent out an unusual volume of email. it's just long term accumulation.

I'm on 2.2.x circa 2023. We've been on this platform for 1.5 years.

I'm shocked that there is no automated cleanup process for this data. I think very few people want to retain 100% of the details of emails sent since the beginning of the Xenforo install.

I successfully truncated it and i'm glad i found this thread.

The records should not accumulate. They are removed when the mail server indicates the message was sent successfully, or after 5 failed attempts.
