XF 2.3 ?

I'm afraid we will not be hearing anything from the development front anytime soon.

It's more likely another announcement will be made that it's game over or something in that regard.

Come on, let's be real here. Is there another explanation on the complete lack of communication?

I completely agree with something someone else posted. I don't care about 2.3 per se. It's the (lack of) communication around 2.3 that kills it.

That occurred to me, too. But then, why invest so much time and money on launching cloud? The fact that happened gives me some hope.

I'm beginning to wonder if instead of game over, the developers are burnt out on the project and prepping it for sale. Or, planning to switch over to cloud only, like IPS keeps hinting at? Of course, I have no grounds for any of this. It's entirely my imagination. But those are the places my mind goes when estimates are way overshot and no information or major updates are forthcoming from official sources for months or years.

XenForo is an amazing product. However, I'm very concerned it's falling behind competitors and their client base (myself included) is losing confidence due to stagnation and lack of communication.

I need a shot of confidence that things are still moving forward; Something like a new HYS thread, some sort of official announcement about the state of the project, or the courtesy of the developers letting us know the project is nearing end of life.

I believe that's an entirely reasonable request after waiting so long under radio silence. I'm sure the development team is aware of this thread and how many people are expressing legitimate concern at this point. In this day and age, communication with the user base is a must.

Very good question!(y)
We could ask the same thing about you but hey good to see you're interested in buying this software.
As i know who you are and i know that you're another internet serial pest be aware of the staff here. They won't allow you to post up gifs and memes like you do on bigfooty.

I usually dont get into this. But I think it’s pretty arrogant that they aren’t keeping us informed. Do they assume we’re just some Saturday warriors who have day jobs? I’ve been with Xenforo for a while and while there’s competition, it’s even pretty bad itself. We need to do what we can to keep forums alive. I’m a tad unsettled myself. The fact that they aren’t even responding tells us the nail is on the coffin.

Quick question , has anyone submitted a support ticket with these concerns. And if so, what did Xenforo staff say?

Need a tissue?

This crap can so easily be avoided, it's embarrassing.
Something I find even... worse is that the Staff hasn't replied at all, yet.
However, I do think they will make a statement (or at least reply) next week.

But yeah, I am also having some questions about their internal communication workflow.
I found this thread:

It was dismissed by Brogan, but I think the suggestion was actually a pretty good one. I don't like how Brogan just dismissed it like that.

Can't say I'm surprised. Attitude as usual.

I do hope they make a statement. Faith may be restored. Surely they must be taking the dent now in non renewals.

I think we should all submit an official support ticket, and report back here the response. Probably the best way to get some comms going at this point…
This might be an extreme thought, but wouldn't the current situation be a case for the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK?

They've repeatedly promised software updates but failed several times to provide us with transparency. I'm not sure but these actions can be perceived as misleading...? I mean, the software is still super solid, but there is no transparency at all, basically just leaving us in the dark.

Yes all while still accepting new purchases/license agreement. That’s why I believe it would be super dodgy if they did end up jumping ship. There’s a lot of people out there that have purchased a license in the last 5 months which have no idea that it’s been comms silent for almost 1 year. Opens a door for Alot of issues.

Exactly!! That's what I thought. They're still accepting new purchases and license agreement. Now, on the other hand, the software works. So that wouldn't break any laws. However, they did promised several times to provide us with updates, but failed to do so.

What could be seen as misleading is that they're promising the current customers there'll be an update anytime soon, encouraging the customers to renew their licenses. This is a loop, as they kept telling us there'll be an update soon... etc. This would fall under the category of misleading or deceptive practices.
