XenWord Pro [Deleted]

LPH updated XenWord with a new update entry:

Multiple Secondary User Group Support

This release is alpha due to the heavy changes in file structure. Many people were concerned about the two subfolders included in the zip file and were using sFTP to upload parts into wrong areas. The new structure should help; however, there may be bugs due to the file location changes. Please report any bugs in the bug report forum.

( 115 ) 3.1.0.0 - August 27, 2016

Are there any noticeable differences between this mod and xenscripts before it was discontinued?

XenScripts is based on WP 3.5. Please understand that WordPress 4.x and above have many new and deprecated functions. XenWord also includes many widgets for better integration. Otherwise, I used XenScripts years ago and found it very nice.

I've gone back a few versions but haven't found any mentions of php 7 compatibility - is it?

Our site uses PHP 7, NGINX, WP 4.6, and XF 1.5.7 (I know we are outdated). The development server is using XF 1.5.8. I haven't upgraded to 1.5.9 yet and might next weekend.

No replies, so far. Latest version of Xenword is breaking my website, not sure what to do now?

Vacations can sure be hard on new members. Did you open a support ticket? I was helping people last night getting things installed. Since user names here and our site don't always match, then it is a challenge to know the status of things.

You say, "Only complete this step AFTER you have aligned user_ids and IDs." How do you do this? Where do you change a user ID in WordPress?

I am using the second last update because I had to roll back (because of errors with the latest one), but I have ran into a large number of bugs that I haven't noted down, which I should have. This is a really important add-on for my site and community as the integration of articles onto the forum, along with comments, is a key aspect of how everything works, and this is why I invested in this add-on originally.

I just wanted to report these two that come to mind.

I noticed an article I posted two days ago did not show up on the forum. I investigated it today and I worked out that the length of the title of it may have been the cause of it not being posted. I know there is a limit on the length of a xenforo thread title, so what I would like to see here is some error come up, or at least the title being cut off, otherwise the thread is not created and this causes major issues as I rely upon people on the forum to comment on these articles to help spread the information, but since it was not posted there is no way for me to link up the article (post) on the front pages (wordpress) to a new thread I would create manually, from what I understand. So going forward here, I have to make sure the length of the wordpress posts are not over the maximum length of Xenforo thread titles, otherwise my articles won't post on the forum.

The second issue/bug is that comments made on the thread back on the wordpress version / post, show as unread back in Xenforo. So this means a person comments, and then they have an unread post back on the forum which is actually theirs. What should happen here is that the post should be marked as read as the person posted it. So this creates a bit of a time consuming process for each user who thinks there is a new post on the thread on xenforo, but it's actually their own comment on the thread/post on wordpress — I hope that makes sense.

Can this mod work as a cross login bridge if the wp is in a completely different directory but on the same server as your forum

Example login to FTP

wordpress site --> wordpress contents
forum site --> forum contents

When you login to the wordpress you can login to the forums.
