XenStudio: Beta Testers Wanted

I've been developing a XenForo addon which allows members to reply to a thread using video.

• A new button is placed on the edit bar.
• The member has a library or they can use XFMG
• The bbcode [XENSTUDIO] is used in the thread to show the video.

I've tested this on a mobile phone and on my laptop. However, it is always best to test things under many circumstances. If you are interested then please go here:

The /feed is starting to take shape. This is a picture of the /feed from my localhost. It is not live but this image should give you an idea of the direction the addons and style are taking.

This looks very interesting. I can see a lot of potential in being able to use video as another way of participating in a normal XenForo discussion rather than making video a completely separate thing.

A few questions as you continue developing it:

1. How are the recorded videos stored — through XFMG, XenForo attachments, or XenStudio's own storage/media system?
2. What happens to existing XenStudio video posts if the add-on is ever disabled or uninstalled? Will they degrade gracefully to a normal video or link?
3. Will recording, playback, and the /feed respect normal XenForo node/thread and XFMG permissions? Will admins be able to control where video replies are allowed?
4. With the /feed, will each video remain tied to and link back to the original discussion? Also, will admins have control over the For You/Following behavior?
5. Any plans for captions/transcripts or audio-only replies? I think both could be very useful, especially from an accessibility standpoint.
6. How are reporting, moderation, deletion, and cleanup of the associated video handled?

No rush on any of this — I realize this is extremely early. I'm interested in seeing where you take it.

Excellent suggestions and questions

1. Admin can set destination to xfmg or the addon library.
2. I am not sure because I do not have this portion done and am actually fussing with different ideas.
3. It should but needs more testing.
4. I can view the threads, as well as library
5. They are on the list. I have it working on a non-xenforo site. I did not port that code yet because it is sloppy transcriptions.
6. My code is too messy here. I had to step back and rethink these.
