There was a minor increase in adoption of vb6 last summer but apparently those websites have tried it and then stopped using it as it again.
Roughly 80% of vbulletin websites is still on ancient versions vb3 and vb4. 15% is on old vb5. That tells you all you need to know.
For Xenforo around 60% is on the latest version.

AFAIK the latest version of vB ist not really much better than vB 5. I would not recommend it in any way.
If you want a basic forum software, then XF is definitely the best solution (also good in SEO and speed). The core code, extensibility (add-on's) and security are also great!

vBulletin isn't a reasonable choice for anyone.
It's shocking they have any sales.
Invision is a VASTLY superior product vs vBulletin, if you don't want xenforo.

Wow... It’s been almost 16 years since I last touched vBulletin. Looking at it now, so much has changed. I feel like it wouldn't be fair to just compare them in terms of pros and cons; every forum script has its own ups and downs. Besides, vBulletin hasn't just been sitting still all these years; they’ve definitely evolved in their own way.
But to be honest, XenForo just feels 'right' to me—both structurally and in terms of daily use. The best forum is the one that doesn't restrict us and lets us customize every bit of it effortlessly. Technical support is another big one. You need to know someone’s got your back. As a site owner, you have to be ready for anything; so, quick security patches, fixing bugs, and a platform that’s always open to improvement are the deal-breakers for me.
Having started with vBulletin and eventually moving to XenForo, my main reason for choosing XF is the team. Knowing that the core crew from the pre-acquisition vBulletin days is here makes all the difference. I trust them. They really know their craft.
Also, a quick tip: you really need to use a forum script for at least 6 months before you can truly judge it. You just can't make a solid decision based on a first look.
Side note: It’s been a long time since I logged in, and I just noticed I have three old 'vBulletin 3' licenses sitting in my Member Area. Funnily enough, the renewal price is exactly the same as buying a new one. I guess if you step away for 16 years, you just have to start from scratch!

The user @MySiteGuy is well known for site transitions.
The official released Xenforo importer supports VB 3.6 to VB 5.x but I have read about some sites that successfully were able to import VB 6. If you attempt this always try on a test site.

I have built-in Google and Facebook login. That i would continue., Most likely i have OneAll Social login too but this dosent need to transfer - its like bonus - checked oneall account.
Is it there shoutbox?
forum database size is most likely smal like around 190.7 MiB this should be easy for you
How much after XenForo license bought transfer cost?
Atm its planned in june, perhaps july. but defanatly i would come over before vb 6 license end

I was born with vBulletin, I used it for many years, I defended it from those who thought it wasn't the best forum simply because it was paid compared to others. I defended it ideologically, just as in the US they defended liberal democracy and in the USSR they defended real socialism. But we must be realistic: it is completely inadequate for today's needs. It was a great product, but for at least ten years now, XenForo has completely outclassed it. And not just XenForo. Invision has also surpassed vBulletin.
vBulletin is like an old house where you've lived, where you've spent happy moments — whether you were an owner or a regular user — but when technology evolves and offers you better ways to feel at ease, whether as an owner or a guest, you simply choose well-being.
Everything has a beginning, everything has an end. You don't have to live on memories.
And the efficiency of vBulletin is just a distant memory.

The inbuilt importers are simple to use, but happy to discuss if youd rather someone do it for you.
