Xenforo Spam Attack

Yeah, SFS only get's about 1 in 6 spammers.....
I'm waiting for the super-duper fuzzy logic programmable spam finder.......

Actually, google is very good at Spam detection - they should allow an API to check against their records....

I use manual activation - because fuzzy logic is needed to ID spammers.

It would be interesting, however, to be able to program the membership sign-up in various ways. For instance, I tend to allow most US and Canadian registrations, as well as those from many cable and other ISP's (verizon, etc.). On the other hand, folks who register late at night (US Time) tend to be from China or India and are spammers (in my case).

So even a simple "let them in without manual activation IF" type of rule would help me.

Need StopForumSpam integration badly.
A mod in the meantime? ;)
http://xenforo.com/community/resources/8wayrun-com-xenutiles-tools.104/

  • StopForumSpam registration integration and submission
  • BotScout registration integration
  • FSpamList registration integration
Fully aware that you may be wanting SFS in the core product and whatnot but until then, like you say...
  1. Install
  2. Wait for the XF update
  3. If all super doopah with point 2, uninstall the mod (maybe)

That mod includes a bunch of stuff I don't need though. If we don't get any word on 1.2 after this month, I'll have to resort to installing it though.
