Xbox one and CoD: Ghosts

I'm interested in purchasing it, I prefer the Xbox over the Playstation.

Considering I've never bought a used game, nor sold a game, the whole issue of second ownership isn't a problem for me.

If it's true regarding not owning the hardware and leasing it, that might be an issue for me. I guess I'll have to look into the legitimacy of that claim.
Yeah I highly doubt that claim... Unless they have a subsidized service like you have with a cell phone there isn't any way someone would pay for it.

As far as using the developer kit as an example... You never own the developer kit. It is borrowed hardware and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

Source? Last time I checked the fee for used games wasn't disclosed.

You have to pay the full price of the game? I can't see how Microsoft are going to manage that.

Prices vary for brand new games.. I've bought games for £40 only to shop elsewhere and see them being sold at like £36. How are Microsoft going to determine the price for the new game when even the retailers differ in prices?

Some games, FarCry 3 springs to mind, ship with an activation code to use multiplayer and require you to re-purchase an activation code to play that game online if you sell it. I figure this would be a much better approach than requiring someone to buy the game again.

There was some information leaked late last year about it, but I can't remember what to search for right now.

I know Microsoft tends to be completely out of touch with their customers now, but this is ridiculous.

Well, the only good thing about this is that Gamestop won't get to rip people off with Xbox One games (hopefully).
Of course. Once they attempted to sell me a used game for €55 while the same game elsewhere would have cost me just €45 new and sealed. There are similar stories spread around the internet.
I've never seen that issue in the US, but I'll ask my friend who works there.

I go to Gamestop at least once a week, twice every other week (when I get my son). I have never seen them "intentionally" have them marked higher. I have seen it where a used copy still had an old sticker, and a newer game has a newer sticker, but the new game was cheaper. Once asked, they simply looked in the computer and told me the updated prices. Keeping up with 1000 games and prices can get a bit hectic. They wouldn't be in business if that was common practice.

Since I live in germany of course my experience is from german Gamestops. But as I said, the internet is full of Gamestop rip-off stories.

Pretty much what my staff member said, though I can't post what she said as it would take too much editing :ROFLMAO:.

Basically she told you to shop around Luxus as different stores have different prices, and that the person at the Gamestop wasn't doing their job properly and that you should report it.

Yeah I don't pay much attention to what I read on the Internet unless it's from a source I can sort-of trust.

CoD will be on both consoles, however they have a contract of temporary exclusivity with Microsoft for the initial launch. If the game is that important to you it might be better to just wait it out and go for the console that is less restrictive and offers the better perks (looking like PS4 to me currently).
Not really. The exclusivity between M$ and Activision is around DLC. The multi-year contract was from MW2 to BO2, but that has been expanded. The re-newed, expanded contract means that any DLC that's released for Call of Duty from Xbox Reveal on - will be exclusive to Xbox-branded consoles. That means, the DLC packs will only be [timed] exclusive to Xbox 360 and Xbox One. So, as usual, PS3 and PS4 users will get DLC a whole month later than Xbox players.

More money for both companies.

To reiterate for everyone else: Call of Duty Ghosts WILL arrive to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and while it's sketchy at this point: Wii U.

In theory, EVERYONE will be able to play Call of Duty Ghosts.

FYI: I wrote an article about PS4, and Xbox One. Enjoy. (y)

Yeah, I learned my lesson from that site a while back. Hahaha. Some "outlandish" claims get posted.
Any Gawker site is pretty much a tabloid.

I only posted their link in regards to used games because I also read it on two other sites that are a bit more professional.

By this logic, you can't trust anyone in a forum
I'd agree with you to some extent.

Don't trust anyone on a forum with information unless it's (a) their own experience/product/service and/or (b) it's backed up by reputable sources known for their truthfulness.

People are quick to hate on Gamestop but I've found games cheaper there than at other places quite often.
