This addon stopped working in 2.3.10 - users reporting no email verification being sent/received, tried just now, no email verification code is being sent/received @Painbaker, please assist.

it's unlikely that update caused the email sending to stop working

Please check the error log for any entries related to addon
also make sure your email service is working and that confirmation emails aren't are not marked as spam

Tested again, @hotmail, @gmail, @Outlook none of the email verifications are coming through, went through the logs, no errors, no email bounces and nothing in any spam/trash folders, seems they aren't being sent out.

tested email notifications for existing users, those are coming through without any issues.

possibly broken class extension cache

Try rebuilding the add-on's data (from the drop-down menu in the add-ons list)

Just tested on clean XF 2.3.11

I can't see any other possible causes other than a broken XF Class Proxy caches or some core add-on that changes the extension logic.
Please provide the full error stack trace. It might contain useful information.

What about the full stack trace?

If the XF Class Proxy failure is only limited to this class, check other add-ons that modify the Core logic or extend the Register class in an incorrect way.

Cause:
In XF/Pub/Controller/Register.php (actionIndex, line 46) the add-on does:

return $this->rerouteController(CLASS, 'withoutVerificationCode');

CLASS is the class extension (OzzModz\VerifyEmail\XF\Pub\Controller\Register),
not the base controller. The reroute works in that request because the XFCP chain
is already built, but XF then logs the guest's activity with
controller_name = 'OzzModz\VerifyEmail\XF\Pub\Controller\Register'
(we had 17 such rows in xf_session_activity, action WithoutVerificationCode).

When Who's Online renders those rows, SessionActivityRepository::applyActivityDetails()
calls extendClass() on that name. There's no extension registered for it, so
class_exists() autoloads the extension file directly, and XFCP_Register was never
aliased, so you get a fatal error. Any visitor/bot paging through /online/ hits it.

Fix (tested on our site, registration flow unchanged):

return $this->rerouteController('XF:Register', 'withoutVerificationCode');

This also keeps other add-ons' Register extensions (e.g. Spaminator) in the chain,
which rerouting to CLASS partly bypasses.

The same pattern exists in OzzModz/PaidRegistration/Pub/Controller/AccountType.php:102
(rerouteController(CLASS, 'withoutVerificationCode', $params)); it should reroute to
the base controller's short name (e.g. 'OzzModz\PaidRegistration:AccountType' / the
XB equivalent) for the same reason.

Could you include this in the next release, so our local patch isn't overwritten on update?

Fixed an error on the online members page caused by email verification during registration.

Fixed rejection of valid email addresses exactly 120 characters long.
