[XB] Verify Email Before Registration [Paid] 2.0.9

It seems to be an issue with the email domain. If I test using a @pm.me ( protonmail.com ) it works but with a @cloud.hosting it fails.

We do not have any email domain restrictions so I am confused as to why some work and others do not.
 
Is this still your addon Ozzmodz? With you mentioning it was with Painbaker?

Also I'm not entirely sure I understand what it looks like for a user when signing up. Does it still show the usual forum sign up page? Or open a different sign up page after checking the email?

So this requires them to use a verification code which is emailed to them - is that right? So if it's a fake email, then the verification code email would bounce too wouldn't it? Apologies if I have misunderstood.
 
Ok so it checks the email address first and only sends the verification code if it's a genuine email - is that right? Apologies for asking so many questions - just trying to work out what I need. But if it checks the address before sending the verification code, why send a verification code? Is that just instead of clicking on a verification link?

It doesn't check anything.
It tries to send the email regardless if the address is working or not.

If their email is working they get a link with the code.
If their email isn't working they get nothing and can't register.

Bounced emails are handled by xenforo settings if you configured them.
/admin.php?options/groups/emailOptions/#bounceEmailAddress
 
Thanks. I don't have anything entered in bounced email address, so they just go to the default/contact us email address. Is there an advantage having a different email address in there?

Bounced and unsubscribe emails work. You need to set them up on your ACP
