[XB] Paid Registration: Membership Plans, User Upgrades & Pricing Tables

[XB] Paid Registration: Membership Plans, User Upgrades & Pricing Tables [Paid] 2.1.1

No permission to buy ($35.00)
I think the difficulty for my site is - majority of people signing up just sign up to view and read articles so "extras" like unique title etc they wouldn't bother with and would just choose the free tier! Monthly amount would put them off as well so I was looking at a "one off". Just trying to increase annual donations really to cover costs.

So does this add criteria to the user group promotion field? Ie user purchased a membership so they go into x group?

Any chance this could be made compatible with Limited Guest Viewing Pro?

This notice does not show on registration page with paid registration addon enabled:

I use that too - has that been solved now please?

The architecture is still XF User Upgrades and you would still need to have those set up how you want and then this maps to it and gives a slick look with some extra features. So yes, user would be upgraded to a group. And you can use this for paid registrations or you can turn that off and simply do upgrades with this add-on.

It's a good investment. It should boost upgrades for you.
Thanks, I'm just trying to work out how it works before going ahead :-) For example current user group promotions I have are quite simple. 2 weeks for one group, 365 days for the next group. Would there be a separate entry in the field to tick "Second tier membership purchased" or something?

Basically your upgrades page can have the new look (via settings). Then if you decide to do paid regs, your registration page will have the new look and offer "upgrades" there.

I will have to work on getting some new special emojis as an incentive to upgrade or go for a membership. Never had much success with that before ha ha.

You might want to offer some supporter content (only supporters see). That's beneficial too new and existing members.

Apart from additional smilies and extended editing I can't think of much to offer - apart from a badge. I'd like to do additional smilies for a usergroup but it seems complicated and can't see any maintained addons for that.

I think you’d be surprised that with the right communication you get subscriptions, ie an admin thread explaining that premium membership can be about supporting the site and just basically “keeping the lights on”

All this needs is the user banner (e.g. Supporter) that goes with the upgrade so people can feel good about helping the site and get a badge to show for it. If you can add some other forum privileges (often it’s no ads) so much the better.

Thanks. I don't have ads, or DM's or classifieds so it would be visuals to offer I think maybe. They like visuals on my forum. A dancing hamster emoji would help but can't find one. Font Awesome doesn't even have a hamster! I requested one a while back.

My forum model is maybe a bit odd. I get a lot of people signing up. But they join up to read articles and go. Very few actually post or get involved. Because hamsters only live about two years, people come and go every couple of years often. So there is a hardcore of posters who use the forum and interact, and the majority of sign ups are just to follow, read, get info etc. So it's about attracting those sign ups to upgrade to a paid membership. Maybe £5 a year or something. But yes adding that it supports the forum helps as well. But many who just want to read and go are likely to just opt for the free membership! I suppose I could make the articles a paid upgrade, but I think that would put people off.
