Account Type Tabs​

Display account types in tabs instead of a long list, making it easier for users to compare plans and find the option that best suits their needs. Optional icons are supported, and the tab navigation is fully responsive.

Comparison Table​

Show a feature comparison table beneath your account types to help users quickly understand the differences between membership plans.

Create feature groups, assign custom text or checkmark values for each account type, and manage everything from the ACP with inline editing and manual sorting.

Add an FAQ block below the comparison table on the Account Upgrades page to help users understand your paid upgrades before they buy.

• Categories: Group questions into categories with a custom FA icon, and optionally display questions grouped by category.
• Multi-language content: Enter category titles/descriptions and question/answer content per language, with a master (default) language fallback.
• Attachments: Attach files to answers using the standard XenForo attachment/editor tools.
• ACP management: Manage categories and questions from the same tabbed admin page as Account Types, Tabs, and the Comparison Table, with drag-and-drop sorting and batch enable/disable/delete.
• Import/export: Export categories and questions (with all language content) to an XML file and import them back, for backups or moving content between boards.

FAQ:​

• Does this add-on replace XenForo user upgrades? No. Account types are linked to XenForo user upgrades and provide a clearer plan-selection and paid-registration experience. Pricing, duration, recurrence, payment profiles, and the user-group benefits are still managed through XenForo user upgrades.
• Can guests pay before creating an account? Yes. A guest selects an account type, enters an email address, completes payment, and is returned to the registration form. The completed purchase is associated with the new account during registration.
• Can I make registration paid-only? Yes. Disable the free account type and enable Force account type selection. When no free account type is available, visitors must purchase an eligible paid account type before completing registration.
• Can I still offer free registration? Yes. Create an active account type without a linked user upgrade. You can make account type selection optional or require visitors to select the free or paid plan that suits them.
• Can existing members purchase account types? Yes. Account types can be made available to registered users, guests, or both. The add-on can also replace XenForo's standard Account upgrades page with the account type layout.
• Are recurring, fixed-term, and permanent upgrades supported? Yes. The account type uses the pricing, duration, and recurring settings of its linked XenForo user upgrade, so fixed-term, permanent, and recurring plans are supported.
• Which payment providers are supported? Guest checkout is supported with XenForo PayPal and Stripe payment profiles. Existing registered users purchase through the payment profiles assigned to the linked XenForo user upgrade.
• Does paid registration work with connected account providers? Yes. The selected account type and completed purchase are preserved through connected-account registration. A separate option can require account type selection for this registration method.
• Can an account type link to an external checkout page? Yes. An account type can use an external purchase URL. In that mode, the add-on displays the plan and links to the external page, but it does not process or verify that external payment.
• Can unavailable upgrades be hidden automatically? Yes. Enable the purchasable-account-type filter to hide account types whose linked XenForo user upgrade cannot currently be purchased by the visitor.
• Can plans be organized and compared? Yes. Account types can be arranged in rows or responsive tabs. You can also build a grouped comparison table with custom text or checkmark values for each plan.
• Can I add my own questions below the plans? Yes. The built-in FAQ manager supports categories, per-language content with fallback, answer attachments, manual sorting, batch actions, and XML import/export.

How to Set Up​

1. Install the add-on via ACP or manually by uploading add-on content to your XenForo installation folder
2. Set up payment providers
3. Set up user upgrades
4. Configure paid registration account types in ACP → User Customization → Paid Registration Account Types

To allow only paid registration, disable the “Regular user” type and enable Force account type selection in add-on settings
