He seems to be in a full-blown CEO egomania death spiral, so he's probably ignoring everything. Which is stupid, given that most of his business relies heavily on investors, and some of those are going to be very unhappy.

WPEngine never argued that? WPEngine wanted them to cease with the defamation that Matt keeps spewing, not money, and then Matt got angry and butt hurt about it.

There’s a good reason for the mass exodus.

Also, Matt has to pay 30k or 6 months payment, whichever is higher to all leaving employees. While he’s capable of handling it, it will definitely leave a mark on his ego.

There was the time when Gutenberg was rolled out way before it was ready. I think everyone knew that but he very heavily insisted in spite of huge number of users who couldn't use it but got shut down or banned from Wordpress.org in some cases for saying anything against it- hence Classicpress came into existence and the Classic editor plugin.

After watching some of the videos with him, I get an uneasy vibe from him.

He's got this public softer than soft, heidy ho neighbour Flanders like vibe, who doesn't curse, yet his actions speak ruthless cut throat CEO who is all about the money and is willing to hold grudges for years and go 'scorched earth'.

Can't quite figure him out.
