XF 1.4 Wondering how do i activate the alert/notification box feature

When i log back into xenforo and receive alerts i see this box pop up at the bottom of the page. How do i activate this feature on my board?

Thank you, and what about the Notification Alert that pops up in the bottom left of the screen. That feature is not active on my board yet either.

Do you mean "You have 1 new alert(s)"?

That's standard and has been for a long long time.

Yes thats what i mean. Ok so i dont see that showing up on my board when i get alerts, but since my board isn't really active that much maybe thats why. Is their a way to test this feature?
