This must be a very solid addon for there to be no updates for over 3 years.
And there appear not to be any other addons which easily allow users to view and reuse their attachments.
So I'm surprised that there isn't more chat.
Any reason not to go ahead and purchase?

It seems on 2.3 the button in the editor just inserts raw bbcode ([ATTACHREUSE][/ATTACHREUSE]) instead of doing a popup to select from gallery.

According to the overview it is not yet updated to 2.3.
You really shouldn't upgrade XF until the app devs have made their apps compliant.

In the meantime, please disable the add-on if you have updated XenForo to a patched version or to version 2.3.13.
