Will a debug mode be available?

I noticed on one of the videos/screenshots that there was a debug mode running.

Will this be generally available or is it only something reserved for the developers?

It's generally available. Just has to be enabled in the config file. However, it shouldn't be used for production - it has performance overhead and technically creates a security issue (as all queries are viewable).

I fully understand that debug mode should only ever be run, well, to debug

In the past I have only ever run it on my local install.

so there isn't the option which allow the admins to check some 'mini stats' onto the footer?
