I'm afraid if I upgrade now, all my changes will be lost.

however, the only "bug" I can see is when the login bar is opened, then closed again the FB and twitter images don't "re-hide"

thanks for this.

turns out my edits weren't so hard .. I set up a dev environment, applied the updated theme, and kept track of all my changes.

Then put all my changes in a wiki so I can do it again if I need too .. just follow my own instructions.

You'd better create a child theme and make all edits there so you can update Whisper without loosing any changes.
