Something is being heated. A liquid is becoming a gas, perhaps more than one thing. It is condensing and travels down the tube, a light end escapes and the separated liquid goes to the bulb. Looks like something we would call a cracker.

Not a cracker you would eat and not crack.

Something similar to when oil is separated into other things.

Isn't that like what we would call a bogan down under? :D
 
Never heard of a Bogan. They might be the same thing. It works off of different evaporation and condensation parameters as well as density.
 
ya mean your not separating crude oil into wax, asphalt, gasoline (petrol for non-Americans) butane and so on? LOL

Here is a starnge device in our kitchen, not quite sure what its use is but it seems to be used mostly for making coal.
