What would be best Nginx or Nginx + Apache?

I'm planning on switching from OpenLiteSpeed to Nginx, this is due to me utilizing another piece of software that doesn't play well with OpenLiteSpeed, so I'm trying to determine which would be best, Nginx with mod_security or Nginx + Apache with mod_security.

I have done research on both topics but I'm getting mixed reviews on both so I'm coming to my favorite community to see what others here say before I make my final decision.

Your best bet would be to use Nginx directly with mod_security; adding Apache to the mix will just impact your general performance at the end of the day.
