What to do with "old" content?

Hi,

Most threads (although the subjects are interesting) seems to "die out" on my forum (some lasts longer). Do you have the same experience? After a maximum of a month or so it's like that content does not exist anymore. How can you bring up old interesting topics again and promote them?

I use an add-on that locks threads after 2 years with nothing posted in that time.

I often bring back threads that are even 5 years old, for example guides and articles.

If you feel it is good for your visitor, you could give it a response just to get it up once. If it is interesting enough hopefully your visitors will keep it going for a while. Though as with any forum, old threads will become replaced with new ones so unless the thread is 'special' I'd just leave it.

This is a very good addon and good for SEO.

It either encourages people to post in an existing thread it gives you as, an admin, a heads up to merge threads.

It's better to have one big thread IMO than several small ones on the same topic.
