What is this block called? Can I change the text or remove it during the demo?

It looks very much like it is a notice, normally you create, change or remove them via the Admin panel > Communication > Notices. Not sure if that's possible during the demo.

EDIT: just tried a demo and it's not actually there under the notices system for you to remove or change - but that is what a notice looks like, although your style customisation does change the appearance

Yeah looks like top tier admin option as opposed to admin/demo/sandbox sort of access. You won't get that on a licensed build.

Ah so we can get support without having an XF license in the pre-sale forum?
No, you need to have a licence to get genaral support with your own forum. But I presumed there is nothing wrong with answering presales questions about the demo??? Maybe there is and I apologise.

I mean if I couldn't get an answer to this question within the demo period, I would definitely not buy a license. So answering whether or not this is specifically because it's a demo is rather important to make the sale.

I can now warn my future users for the moment to ignore that part, I'll launch to my users this week and if successful enough I'll be happy to pay.

Another thing you can do is check the Forum Showcase, you can direct your users there: https://xenforo.com/community/forums/forum-showcase-and-critiques.53/

See what other people's Xenforo forums look like, seeing how different everyone's forums are should give you an idea how customizable it is.

Ah that's useful, cheers.

As I'm the one building my forum, and I am not very good at design and programming and all that, knowing that I wasn't going mad because I couldn't find how to change or remove the box has been a big help hah.

As far as I'm hoping my users won't need much, just a place to leave messages for each other and maybe organise some TTRPGs and Board Games :)

Here's where you can browse for publicly available skins: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/categories/styles-2-x.45/

You can filter between free and paid. It's a learning experience. It might be easier to acquire a cool skin, and work on it from there.

Thank you! that's cool

At the moment I'm pretty chuffed with the simple style, just in my colours. If I feel like diving in in the future I may have a proper look at them!

Now to see if I can get folks to sign up! Haha.
