FWIW, I think most sites probably shouldn't be aggregating dynamic content feed on the home page, but that's just my opinion. It certainly depends on your site, but most sites are not news sites. If you site has something specific to offer, highlight whatever that is on the home page. This is what the home pages look like on some of my XF2 sites:

Ironically it’s one of the bigger addons. It’s all the things that are individually small things and I didn’t want to make a full addon for each of those unrelated things. But throw 200 or so individually/unrelated small things in there and you end up with something pretty big. But it’s better than 200 more addons for random small things.
