What is the average price of a custom style?

As the topic says, I'm going to be investing soon in someone to do a completely custom XenForo style and I'm trying to figure out now what sort of pricetag most people offer for such services so I can begin saving up as these funds come out of pocket.

Some ideas about the style:
I'm thinking an old style parchment scroll as the forum background, blocked two-column node layout, and a lot of pretty graphics to spice the layout up.

I'm not a fan of plain and functional because I believe beautiful and amazing can also be functional.

I'll likely be wanting this on XenForo 1.2 when it is released.

So how much do pay charge for such services?

Reading up on your specs for a style (and whilst Russ & Forsaken are very good at what they do and i always recommend them) the person you want to hire is @Kim as this is a style spec that is something Kim does very very nicely with her hand drawn art. I'm not sure however if she is available for hire but it's certainly worth shooting her a PC.

Some of them have been updated by @Forsaken but it gives you an idea of what she can do and the exceptional designs she does.

I recognize the styling on BBSmiley.com now. I'll definitely have to check this user out. I'm first making a comprehensive list of everything I possibly can think of that I'll need and want on my site.

So to continue on topic, I still could use some more thoughts on the price tag of such a style. Anyone have any thoughts. I'm not a developer so I can't possibly say what is or isn't reasonable. I want to pay fairly and appropriately without feeling like I'm getting ripped off.

I would say the price would remain about what several of us already said and agreed was about the correct ballpark figure and then $50-$150 more for the custom postbit discussed.

Okay, now here's a question: With XenForo 1.2 in BETA, is this a practical use to develop a style or is 1.2 Gold going to have too many changes to the theme and layout that a developer cannot begin creating a style on it now?

Currently I am working with a client and our rates go as follows.

$250 and giving us the right to sell it later. 600 for exclusive rights.

Okay, I think if all goes well I will be able to make a post and find someone to do this style off of the XenForo 1.2 BETA release starting on the 19th after my current job with an MIA developer I have is closed.

I'm going to shoot for offering around the $550 - $700 ballpark.

I complied the full list of everything I want. I even made some nifty MSPaint images to demonstrate what I need and how I want things to look. There's quite a lot. The developer for my style is certainly going to have his or her hands full.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to have the theme created for XF 1.1.5 and then updated for 1.2 or should I just wait for 1.2?

If you don't plan on using 1.1.5 after 1.2 is finalized, I would wait for 1.2...I suspect it will be declared stable within the next month (maybe even sooner). I would go ahead and hire who you want to do the job...most will probably have a waiting list you'll have to contend with. ;)

I paid $750 but i'd say 450-750 for a good custom theme. My theme was a pretty different look compared to anything already out there.
