What does "Kier" mean?

Did England finally convert to metric? I live in the south so....we'll like never convert here. xD We mostly just function on the standard system, and mix in metric when needed....like when I have to work on those damn Japanese cars all my friends own. ;)

What's extra funny about that is in metric England they still have 2 X 4's. (or so I understand)

Not sure if England is metric officially or not, but we're metric here in Australia, and we have them too, but they are more technically a 45x95mm now even if they still often get referred too as a 2x4 lol

Yes, they are "offically" metric. We, on the other hand, are stuck with "English" measure.
Well, we had to use metric measurements in shops, thanks to the EU, but we're a mixed up lot, to be quite honest.

TVs sold in inches, distances in miles and yards, smaller measurements taught in mm and cm at school, fuel priced in litres, yet we all use miles per gallon as a comparison for fuel economy and beer sold in pints, not litres.

Although I wouldn't object to a Litre of beer at the same price as a pint!
