This is very much a niche add-on; https://atelieraphelion.com/products/cache-permission-checks.89/Addon link?
Thanks.
I'm curious if your question has been answered. I guess in summary, "It depends".We're currently exploring how we can leverage caching to improve performance on our forum, and reduce server load. That said, I have limited experience with caching and no experience configuring the same for XenForo.
Given that, I was curious if some folks would share their thoughts on what collection of caches/providers they've gone with, and why. Hopefully this can be helpful to us and others as we try to figure out what implementation might suit our forum best. )At the moment we are considering APC + memcached.)
Thanks!
Indeed - if anything I'm a bit more lost given the relative complexity of some of these answers hahaI'm curious if your question has been answered. I guess in summary, "It depends".
Install redis cache*, my redis views & flood checker add-ons is probably an easy & straight forward win.
Should have mentioned - we're on 7.4.3+1 certainly helps regardless of size of forums as it's a nice measure for when you have unexpected traffic spikes/attacks to have in place anywayThough then performance will ultimately depend somewhat on the PHP version you use and how it was built PHP 8.0 vs 7.4 vs 7.3 vs 7.2 vs 7.1 vs 7.0 benchmarks

If you don't mind humoring my ignorance - what is the benefit of using these add-ons with Redis versus XF's stock connector?Install redis cache*, my redis views & flood checker add-ons is probably an easy & straight forward win. Otherwise additional caching becomes quite complex and more customized.
