What benefits do you give for user upgrade?

Hello everyone! We are currently planning to use the user upgrade and want to solicit your opinions, especially those who have success in this. What benefits do you usually give (features, access, etc.) for your upgraded users? TIA.

This is very broad question because many factors come into play. What is your forum about? Do you offer a premium service? Tutorials? etc... or are you a off-topic forum that offers nothing but entertainment? Also depends on the size of your forums.

I am the ladder "Entertainment" I have no services to offer other than entertainment for folks, meaning off-topic discussion, pop culture, radio, tv etc...

What i offer is access to conversations, addons, larger avatars, more storage space for attachments etc.

I dont allow registered members access to the private conversation because I have had many problems with members spamming, and also members trying to create sipn-off forums and poaching members.

1 example. I have sportsbook installed, only supporters can access it.

Our forum is like a support forum with some kind of social media type (off topic). We also don't have services to offer but only sharing our experiences for our members. We currently have a ranking where every rank has an additional features and access for private forums. Do you think this is enough to be included or do we need to add something more?

I think it's a good start, but you cant be shy, you have to sell your features. Make it known to members what they are getting for supporting. I tell my members that they are donating and not purchasing anything, they are simply helping with hosting costs, and other bills. When they find out they are helping pay the bills and keep your forums online people will donate, you just have to make it know.
