Hi guys,
I sometimes use a linux VM within my computer to access unknown websites. If these websites contain malware, would the malware need to be designed to infect a linux machine to affect my VM? Also would it need to be targeted at overcoming a virtual machine to infect my host machine?
Basically, what I am asking is does a virus need to be targeted to my setup to infect my host computer?
If not, how likely is it that an infected website will infect both my VM and my host machine?
