XF 2.1 Version numbering

Is the official 2.1 release the same as RC2? And 2.1.1 should be RC3?

Bug fixes mentioned a RC3 but now that it's officially released I was wondering what numbering corresponds to what.

No, the official 2.1.0 release yesterday is the final stable version, which was mentioned here:

Today, we are excited to announce that XenForo 2.1.0 has completed its pre-release phase and is now our primary supported XenForo version.

I guess they decided that an RC3 wasn't needed and went straight to gold instead.

Release Candidates (and developer/alpha/beta releases) are always clearly marked as such (and have clear warnings that they are not supported and shouldn't be installed on live sites).
