What does this imply? That I will have to completely renounce all third party add-ons developed so far?

BTW, a second point release wouldn’t completely rewrite everything, only first point ones would, ie 3.0

Can you link to where you saw something like that? It'd be rather surprising if it is true so something may have been misinterpreted or mistranslated.

It is a voice that has been referred to me and that seems to originate from TAZ.
And that obviously, as far as I invested in the XenForo add-ons, it alarms me.
