I know 2.2.9 is an old version.
I already had issues with manually patching it before, which led to many issues, so I had to revert it. As it was manually patched, I knew which files were changed and I made backup of them before.
Explanation why new patch didn't work was, it's using new methods, developed later, and it won't be fixed in a way that will work with the old version methods.
And, now we have patching done through ACP. It's nice, but, it also means I don't know which files are changed, I can't save them before upgrade to revert it if something goes wrong.
My question is, is patch 2.2.9 Patch 2 (and later) safe to apply, even on this old version? Does it respect old methods used originally for this version?
I know I can backup, and that I should backup before, but now I'm not sure if patches will work safely with old versions.
